Hog Roast FAQs

If you have any questions about hog roasts and our services, check out our helpful list below!

How long does a hog roast take to cook?

Our preferred method of roasting a 55kg pig will take roughly 12 hours to cook. However, it can take 6 – 7 hours if spit-roasted.

What time will you arrive at the event?

Ideally, we like to cook the pig on-site, so we will arrive to give ourselves enough time.

What areas do you cover?

Our services are available throughout North Devon including Barnstaple, Bideford, Ilfracombe and South Molton.

Do you need electricity?

We will only need electricity if we are spit roasting the pig, or if we need lights to serve.

How much space do you need?

An ideal space would be 4m x 4m, but we can cope with a minimum of a 3m x 3m space.

How is the hog roast served?

We will serve our food to your guests in a buffet style. The pig roaster turns into a serving counter where your guests will collect their pork bap.

What if it rains?

We will bring our own gazebo so the pig will remain dry.

Does the hog roast produce smoke?

No, we clean the roaster thoroughly after each event. However, you will get delicious aromas teasing your senses!

Can you do a pig roast indoors?

Yes, the roaster will not leak and is completely safe to use indoors. However, health and safety regulations mean the gas bottle must be outside.

Do you supply the crockery and cutlery?

If you do not want to use disposable items, we can also hire in crockery and cutlery for a small additional cost.

What happens with any leftover meat and the carcass?

Any leftover meat will be left to you, so you will be responsible for the appropriate storage. The carcass and waste will be removed from the site by us.
